The Sunday Times online will be the laboratory of paid contend. Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp want to try a new business model by asking surfers to pay for the content in a world of all free. Will this try succeed ? Are people willing to pay for something the can get anywhere else ? Even scoops are sooner or later available elsewhere. Not to mention thousands of individual pages or blogs leaking any spicy news. So that question of “willing to pay for content” is core. Sunday Times can try the so called “premium” content to seduce credit cards. But which premium ? Free DVDs like the printed version ? Free tickets for anything ? A sure thing is the first online media that will succeed on this, will change forever the online business model, from all free to all paid.

In the meantime, raising premium walls is a great way to be avoid by Google bots and gently give your traffic to the competition. Thank you Sunday Times ! ;-)
