The Day Android Killed the iPhone.

Android Logo The Day Android Killed the iPhone.
That’s my bet : Android OS is here to rule the (smart)phones market.
With the launch of the 2.x iterations, Android is no more blushing when facing the iPhone. Features, speed, better camera, better battery life even with multi-tasking, form factor, etc… The Nexus One is just day one of the inundation.

For sure and for now, the Appstore beats the Android market by numbers. But old tech farts will tell you that at the time, the Apple II computer ruled by number of applications, until the IBM PC and compatibles came out.

That’s simply irresistible. History, even in tech, is a circle and Apple is ment to be a niche player forever. There’s no future where every phone is an iPhone. But there is certainly one where Android dominates by number of units – event if the low end market – thus number of apps (developpers can’t resist long huge installed base of users).

I don’t like to say such silly things, because they mean Google will also dominate the mobile Internet as well. And in addition to advertising, one of the massive forthcoming killer applications of that mobile Internet will be mobile transactions. OMG ! Google as your next bank ? Noooooooooooo ! :-)
