Windows 7 : Do More With Less !

steve ballmer thumb Windows 7 : Do More With Less !

Steve Balmer was on stage last Sept 29th in San Francisco. He was promoting the vast benefits of Windows 7 and other happy tools. He once more insisted on the ‘Do more with less’ baseline. And I must admit I love that baseline. Do more, with less. A perfect story for a tough economy. The belief that for example you will perform better with less effort. And if performance means money, Steve simply knows how to bring you extra money by staying in bed all day !

Interested ?

Of course ! But to reach that Nirvana, please first get your paid copy of Windows 7 as a consumer, and add Windows Server and Exchange as a business. Yes, of course, Microsoft is still using that old marketing trick coming from the deepest ages : pay to save money. I like it. Damn funny.

I mean, that people obey to it.

This trick is also very common in the car industry. Those guys also ‘wizard’ you with a pompous “look my car eats more miles per gallon”. That’s a pure ‘do more with less’. Right ?

Nope.

I may miss something, but in real world, more is only generated by more.

More performance is a result of more R&D. More gas savings is the result of more engine performance. Same for software. And you’ll pay more money for Windows 7 despite you’re already fast enough with Windows XP.

Do more with more ! That is concrete.

The rest is marketing fiction included in the product price… ;-)
