The eG8 is the first edition of a forum dedicated to the Internet economy and regulation, based on the G8 forum model. France initiated and is hosting this first session with President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Among all questions and answers, one concept came on top of everything : no one can control or stop Internet.
Interesting idea. Interesting because of course governments want to do exactly the opposite: control and be able to stop Internet upon their will.
That’s the hidden message of this forum : governments want to control Internet under unique and shared rules.
That’s logic. Otherwise they just loose power, which can’t be.
Or if this happens, it’s going to be a critical and massive worldwide revolution where companies running the Internet will also run the world. For the good (wealth) and bad (tracking) of it.
But at the end of the day, who cares? As you know, there’s always a master of the world.
Simple and core question remains: did you chose him?
