Nowadays, you can’t speak with parents without having to listen to the same story : “my kid is a tech genius, see how much he can do with the iPad, and blah blah blah….”
You heard it.
When parents talk that way, they describe the world as if there was a kids conspiracy. Like kids raising from hell with tech savvy abilities to rule the world (something they will do with time anyway).
But think it twice. Are kids smarter today ? Is mankind experiencing an intelligence quantum leap in one or two generations ? Hum… No Sir.
Fact is technology is by itself coming of age. It became accessible to the masses, in price and features. Ac-ces-si-ble.
With any inaccurate push on a touch screen kids (did someone tried with monkeys?) can activate things and make the device spit bells and whistles.
But give me a break, it’s the device that is smart enough to be used by a kid, not the other way around. And the device was built buy adults, you know, people like you and me who learned for years to make things easy.
But hey, kids are still adorable (when they sleep) ! :-)
