Google recently unveiled that a few Google Cars have been driving around San Francisco without any human intervention. A mass load of sensors and Google maps make this possible. Of course a driver and a software operator remain in the car to take control in case the machine shows too much creativity. 
But more than another gadget, this auto-pilot car technology is with no doubt the next big big thing for the car industry.
