Well, with Google Instant Search, that dream is about to come true.
First you need a Google account to enjoy it, and to be of course logged in.
Then you’ll see that results for your search appear just as you type, inlcuding suggestions and ads, all dynamic !
3 basic things come to mind from that :
1) Target of the search
With dynamic resulta showing up as you type, chances are that you will be interested by a result, not because it’s the perfect match for your original search, but because it shows there quicly. This could be called oriented search where at the end of the day if you get too distracted you will end up be never finding exactly what you were searching for. But it’s not a big deal, that’s what you already do after all while browsing. Here you’ll just get it faster, and more systematic. But most of the time you’ll end reading something you were not exactly searching for, but something that Google has valuables ads to show about.
2) Ads efficiency
Here we are, ads and revenue. Never forget that’s the purpose of Google is to sell more pricey ads. With instant search, ads also change dynamically with the suggested results. This means an ad by itself can catch you interest and stop your search more quickly than it did so far. Really clever.
3) Privacy
I told you. All this magic is possible only if you’re logged into you Google account. Do you imagine de intimacy that will exist between you and Google data centers ? Humm… I would say an infinite one. And this, of course, will only serve the purpose of showing you the ads you will 100% love to click on ! :-)
