Risk of overheating, that’s what happened to the iPod 1st generation in Japan. Uh! Was it a new feature intended for that market ? Well, seems not. Japanes government just conviced Apple to replace defective units. But you know Apple, replacement will be offered only to asking customers. And to be able to ask, customers have two options : read the daily tech press (which most don’t), or discover the additionnal feature by themselves : iPod on fire ! Apple knows how money is above all things. ;-)
Another question : are 1st generation iPods turning into fire only in Japan ? ;-)
